Descrição: The golden hollow is the site where the city of Palermo rises, with its most famed beauties are shown to us thanks to static takes, slow tracking and “split screen” shots inspired by picturesque picture postcards. The pretorian fountain slips by on screen, the great theatres, the cathedral, the cable-car and the cloister at the Monreale abbey. The beauty of Palermo is also in the life of its people, who are shown to us while they meet and shop at the fish market or at work as they assemble Sicilian model-carts to sell as souvenirs. The film ends with views of the port. The video is a copy from the film print held by the National Cinema Museum: 35mm, positive, acetate, 111 metres, colour (Desmetcolor), Italian intertitles, silent.
